A Perturbing Situation
Jesus Christ said, “when you see standing in the holy place the abomination that causes desolation spoken of through prophet Daniel- let the reader understand-then” (Mathew 24:15)
The Christian community in Africa should brace up and confront that which has crept in before it will get out of control. We seem unconcern by the presence of LBGT in our midst. It crept in, took roots and now expanding. Some countries have enacted laws banning it without enforcing it. Some remain indifference to the activities of the LGBT. Yet Christian leaders are either focusing on competition, pulling down one another or engulfed in materialist gospel ling. All these at the detriment of kingdom expansion.
Perhaps, we think what is happening in the west cannot happen here on our soil. It will happen unless we change our approach.
Let us take Nigeria’s case for example; a man came up dressing as woman first. Others joined him thereafter. He went on showcasing his lover man on the media. At other time he would display money paid him by his lover man. Now he has declared himself as a woman competing at women fashion show without any agent of the authority questioning him.
Certainly they are on mission. They are busy modelling and by extension the youth in our very eyes. Time is coming when they will begin to go to court to obtain injunction that will stop the church from holding open air rally and will follow suit with securing law to sensor sermons and regulate what part of the bible should be preached. It will be too late for us then. It is happening in the west already.
In May 23, 2021, a 71year old pastor was preaching in the UK at an open place. He barely read out a chapter in the bible that shows how God defined marriage. He was arrested and handcuffed, detained for 24hours. Whereas, when gay groups protest against Christian or openly kiss around a church in the USA; it is not considered as hate. These are some of the examples of how the law has been tilted to shield them to carry out their agenda.
It is high time our leaders ceased from rancour and actions that tear down the body of Christ and begin to unite against the common enemy.
